Birgit Mierbeth's love for fine arts and creating pieces by herself is developing since her early youth. Limited by the possibilities of artistic expression growing up in conservative Bavaria of the 60s and 70s, Birgit had to be patient until she was able to make a bit of money on side to finally break out for traveling the New York of the 80s. Inspired by the grid and punk of Manhattan, Birgit began to design her first jewelry collections with just a spray can and some recycled metal.
Times changed and Birgit Mierbeth found herself with a decent amount of freedom to revisiting her lifelong dream of becoming a fine arts painter, fluent in the languages of oil and acryl. After a brief journey in different techniques and sujets, Birgits work is becoming more and more based all around the human interaction, introspection and esthetics.
